Who we are
OSH (Open-Source Homeschooling) is a free, open, community-governed curriculum platform. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. Questions go to hello@osh.education.
What we collect
- Waitlist: your email address, and optionally your name, city, and whether you are a parent, teacher, or school.
- Account: your email address, name, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Children: the name and birth year you enter for each child, used only to build age-appropriate syllabi and track progress. We never ask for more about a child than this.
- Activity: syllabi you save, progress you mark, curriculum you propose, and votes and comments you make.
- Audit records: state-changing actions on the platform are logged with the acting account, for safety and accountability.
How we use it
- To run the platform and show you your own family data.
- To email you about your waitlist place or your account. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
- When you propose curriculum, the text of your idea is sent to an artificial intelligence service to draft and screen it. Your account details and your children's details are never sent.
- To credit you by name on curriculum you author, which is public by design.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your data.
- We never run programmatic advertising or advertising trackers.
- We never share children's information with anyone.
Cookies
We use one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is not used for tracking and is not shared with anyone. It expires after 30 days or when you sign out.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and family data. Email hello@osh.education and we will respond within 14 days. Curriculum you contributed stays published under its open license, credited as you chose.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be announced on the platform.
