Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 July 2026

The service

OSH (Open-Source Homeschooling) provides a curriculum platform for families, teachers, and communities. The platform is free for individuals and families, forever. By creating an account or joining the waitlist you agree to these terms.

Licensing

  • The platform code is open source under AGPL-3.0.
  • All curriculum content on the platform is licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0. You may use, adapt, print, and share it, including commercially, provided you credit the author and share adaptations under the same license.
  • By contributing curriculum you license your contribution under Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 and confirm it is your own work or work you are entitled to contribute.

Your responsibilities

  • Keep your account credentials safe and do not share accounts.
  • Only submit content that is safe, accurate, age-appropriate, and free of plagiarism.
  • Do not abuse the platform: no spam, no scraping of member data, no attempts to bypass rate limits or access controls.
  • Helpers and pods are community listings. You are responsible for your own diligence before meeting anyone or engaging their help. OSH does not vet, employ, or guarantee helpers or pods.

Educational responsibility

OSH provides curriculum and tools, not legal or educational advice. Homeschooling regulations differ by country and region. Parents and guardians remain fully responsible for their children's education, supervision, and compliance with local law, including registration and examination requirements.

Moderation

Proposed curriculum passes automated screening, community review, and human approval. We may reject, edit for safety, or remove content, and may suspend accounts that break these terms. Review decisions are recorded and rejected proposals are retained for accountability.

Warranty and liability

The platform is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, OSH and its contributors are not liable for any damages arising from use of the platform or its content.
